May meets Macron in bid to win support for Brexit plans – Daily Mail

Mr Macron is hosting the British Prime Minster for a four-course dinner at the dramatic setting of Fort Bregancon, a small island which was once fortified by Napoleon. Mrs May, joined by colleagues including her chief of staff and the British ambassador to France arrived at the fort and sat down with Mr Macron (left) this evening after breaking off from her holiday in Italy to try and sell her Chequers plan for Brexit. Mrs May hopes to persuade Mr Macron to assist with an EU deal, because France is viewed as one of the main obstacles to a relaxation of the EU’s position in the negotiations.
