Mexican investigators find 166 human skulls in mass grave

The skulls were found dumped in a clandestine pit in the eastern state of Veracruz. State prosecutor Jorge Winckler said the skulls and other human remains had lay there for at least two years. More than 200 items of clothing, 114 identity cards and other body parts were found in the same pit, with investigators saying the number of victims could rise. Veracruz has been the scene of bloody turf battles between the Zetas and Jalisco drug cartels. Last March 250 bodies were found in a mass grave in the same area. The exact location of the most recent pit is not being disclosed for security reasons.
